Dear Parents/Carers,

 

Welcome to Dunstable Icknield Lower School 

 

The prospectus has been written to provide information about our school and to answer some of the many questions that arise when a child starts school.

 

We would like to welcome you and your child to our School and hope that the time spent with us will be both productive and happy.

 

Members of staff are committed to providing quality education and learning experiences. The relationship built between adults and children are fostered to encourage high standards of education and behaviour. It is acknowledged that school plays a large part in any child’s life, but home remains the major influence. We believe that education is a partnership between parents and teachers and we hope to establish a close relationship with you. There are many opportunities for you to become involved, either by directly helping in the classroom, which is actively encouraged or by becoming a member of the Parent Teacher Association. We try to involve you as much as is practicable and will always contact you if your child is experiencing any problems. We hope that you will support us by passing on information that affects your child’s welfare or development. While your child is in school, we will provide high standards of teaching in all the basic skills of Literacy, Numeracy and Science as well as following the tenets laid down by the National Curriculum.

 

We provide a broad and varied curriculum. You can be assured that we will be setting high standards of work and behaviour at all times as we cater for the needs of differing abilities, interests and backgrounds.
